OUR SCHOOL
Hollingbourne is a small, delightful, friendly, village school nestled in the North Downs. It boasts 100 lovely children aged 4 to 11 years.
We have a committed and enthusiastic staff who are determined to enable every child to reach their potential, providing them with a stable, caring environment in which they and are stimulated and keen to learn. The school looks out onto the North Downs and is surrounded by beautiful countryside.
The main building is Victorian with later additions of an Early Years block and a modern school hall. We have access to both a school playground and a large field which the children are encouraged to make the most of.
The school has been graded Good by OFSTED in March 2022

WELCOME FROM THE HEADTEACHER
I was honoured to be appointed Headteacher of this incredible school in September 2017. I invite you to look at our website to see all the amazing opportunities we provide for our children within the classroom as well as our wider curriculum. This is a school that suits every child as our curriculum is broad and balanced and underpinned by our school values. We offer unique experiences here and I would welcome visits to see this first hand!

WELCOME FROM THE HOUSE CAPTAINS
Hello, we are the school House Captains. There are two houses in our school – Culpeper and Eyhorne. Each week house points that have been earned by each class are added to find the winner for that week. At the end of the year, there is an overall winner and that house name gets added to our school shield. House points can be earned by children who produce brilliant work and show a fantastic attitude to learning.
At Hollingbourne Primary School we have lots of equipment to play with including: football goals, basketball hoops and monkey bars as well as a large wooden climbing frame. There are lots of things for us to do at break and lunch time. We have a large field and a forest area which allows us lots of freedom to build our own camps with the fallen wood and logs around the school. We also have a campfire where we have treats such as hot chocolate and marshmallows. We are taught how to use lots of equipment including hammers, nails, saws, drills, large clamps and knives to whittle wood. We also learn how to manage a campfire.
We are fortunate to have a large hall which we use for lots of different activities, such as assemblies, lunch, indoor PE, concerts and performances.
We have good learning resources and large classrooms with display areas that show our best pieces of work for everybody to enjoy.
We treat one another like family and warmly welcome newcomers to our school. We believe that we should be respectful to one another and always treat others as we would like to be treated ourselves.
Our school values are: resilience, acceptance, aspiration, honesty, collaboration and respect; which we feel are constantly shown by all pupils and staff in school every day.
Our school helps us to become more mature and take responsibility especially when we get to Year 6 as we are encouraged to set a good example for the younger children in the school. We are also given extra responsibilities such as monitor jobs, for example, being in charge of computers and ipads. In Year 6, we also get the opportunity to become VIPs, which stands for Values champion, Inspired learner and Problem solvers. Even the youngest children in the school are encouraged to take responsibility.
In our school we have four classes: Cherry (Year R/1), Beech (Year 2), Pine (Year 3/4) and Oak (Year 5/6). Our classes are named after trees found in our school grounds.
We have a school dog called Fifi and she often comes out with us at break and lunch times to keep us company. She also comes to see us in our classrooms too.
Our teachers are very friendly, kind and understanding and always willing to listen to our ideas and thoughts. They make our learning fun and easy to understand, showing us how to work things out. Our Headteacher is Mrs Bradley-Wyatt and our Deputy Head is Mrs Allen-Harding (Year 5/6 teacher too).
